In the first part of Design Your Life: Like an Architect, we talk about our Purpose. The reason? Because the first thing we need to understand when designing or planning anything is… why are we doing it in the first place?
I’ll admit. When I was writing this story–The Devil’s Tri-Tone–brainstorming the story, I was thinking, “what the heck am I going to do for an outro? How can I spin a horror story into ‘Something Good’ for you all to leave with?” But as always, if I have a little faith in the process, and just go with the flow, it always comes to me.
(SCARY) – EMBER tells us the story of his journey, “through Hell and back.” He asks us one thing, and that’s to simply reserve our judgment until the end. After all, he knows how insane it all sounds to start! But, by the time you reach the end, you’ll understand more clearly. It’s time to turn off the lights. Light a candle if you’re scared, and dive into, “The Devil’s Tri-Tone.”
** This really has nothing to do with clouds.
It starts with just a single molecule—or at least that’s the easiest place to start–with a molecule of H2O. Tiny, out of sight, out of touch, and out of any physical sense we can muster… except for our imagination. It starts with just that one molecule of H2O.
There are so many things on my mind with this story (BREAK A LEG). Some obvious things that might also be rattling around in your mind right now, and some personal things specific to me as well. Writing this story filled me with a similar feeling as when I was writing my very first story, “The Toy Rocket.” The feeling, and knowing, that those dearly departed were with me throughout the writing process. My Grandparents, my Uncle Mike, and also more recently, my cousin, Chris. They were a big influence on the characters and the messages flowing throughout. Because I just feel so happy when I think about them. Period.
And that’s a major thing that I really got and grasped from them all, and from so many other people in my life. Which is also the main idea of this story.
